Can I use a domain I already own?

Short answer: Yes. Keep your domain and tell us the name. If it is with another provider, we add it and send you the exact records to set.

Steps

  1. Email hello@sortedonline.uk from the email

address on your account. Give us the full domain, for example yourbusiness.co.uk.

  1. We add your domain to your website and reply with the records to create. You

normally need a CNAME record and one or two TXT records. A CNAME record points one name to another. A TXT record proves you own the domain.

  1. Add the records in your domain provider's settings. Leave your email records

(called MX records) alone, so your email keeps working.

  1. Reply to tell us the records are added. We check them and finish the setup.
  2. If your domain is already with sortedonline.uk, there is nothing to do. We

manage it for you.

What to expect

You keep ownership of your domain, and you do not need to transfer it to use it with your Sorted Online website. Verification is often quick, but it can take up to 48 hours, depending on your provider. We build your website while we set your own domain up, and it goes live as soon as the records work. A domain you already own is not registered again, so there is no new registration to pay for. To add email on the same domain, see business email on your own domain.
