Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between you and Sorted Online. They apply when you use our website and our service.
Who we are
"Sorted Online", "we", "us" and "our" mean the Sorted Online service operated from the United Kingdom. "You" means the business or person using the service. If you use the service for a business, you confirm that you may agree to these terms for that business.
What we provide
We build a website for you from the details you give us, publish it, and provide forwarding email for the address you choose. Depending on what you set up, your service can include:
- a website written and published for you from your sign-up details;
- a domain of your own, which you either register through us or connect from one you already own;
- forwarding email on a domain you connect or register; and
- help by email, as described on our help centre.
We may change, improve, or retire parts of the service. If a change materially reduces what you get, we will tell you before it takes effect and you may cancel.
Price and payment
The price is £15 a month for your website, your own domain, and forwarding email. There is nothing to pay when you sign up.
Recurring payments are collected by UK Direct Debit through our payment provider, GoCardless. You set up the Direct Debit during sign-up. The first collection happens after the Direct Debit is active, which usually takes a few working days. We do not store your bank details: GoCardless holds them, and we only keep a reference to your mandate.
If you register a new domain through us, we register it for you and look after it, including its renewal, while you are a customer. Domains are provided through our registrar partner. If you connect a domain you already own, you stay responsible for renewing it.
If a payment fails, we will contact you and try again. If the payment stays unpaid, we may suspend the service. We will tell you before we suspend, and you can contact us to put things right.
Referrals and free months
If you are a customer, you can share a personal referral link from your account. When a new customer signs up through your link and makes their first successful payment, we give you one free month as an account credit. The reward is for you, the customer who referred them.
These rules apply to the referral scheme:
- It is for new customers only. You cannot refer an existing customer, and you cannot refer yourself.
- We grant the reward only after the referred customer's first successful payment. Signing up on its own is not enough.
- You earn one free month for each new customer you refer. There is one reward per referred customer.
- We cannot grant a reward for a referral from the same owner email or the same account.
- The free month is an account credit. We apply it automatically at your next billing date.
- The credit has no expiry, is not paid in cash, and cannot be combined with another credit in the same month.
The person you refer does not get a reward, and their price does not change. We may withdraw the scheme or change these rules. If we do, we will tell you before the change takes effect.
Your details and your website
You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you give us. We publish the details you provide, including your business name, contact details, and address, as part of your website. Do not give us details you do not want published. Our privacy notice explains what we store and why.
You keep ownership of the content you give us and the website we generate for you. You grant us permission to use, store, and publish those details to run the service.
Domains and email
If you connect a domain, you confirm that you own it or are allowed to use it. You are responsible for renewing any domain you own. If you register a domain through us, the registrar's terms also apply, and the domain is subject to the registrar's renewal and transfer rules.
Forwarding email forwards messages sent to an address on your domain to the inbox you nominate. We do not provide a mailbox, and we do not store your messages; they pass through to your nominated inbox.
Acceptable use
You must not use the service:
- for anything unlawful, misleading, or fraudulent;
- to send spam, or to promote goods or services that are illegal;
- to infringe anyone's rights, including copyright or trade marks; or
- to harm the service, other customers, or the providers we rely on.
If you break these rules, we may suspend or end the service. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
Availability
We work to keep the service available and reliable. We do not promise that it will never be unavailable. Maintenance, provider outages, and events outside our control can interrupt it. When something goes wrong, we investigate and put it right as quickly as we can.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time. The simplest way is to email hello@sortedonline.uk. When you cancel, we stop future Direct Debit collections and take your website and forwarding email offline. If you have paid for a period that has not finished, the service stays available until that period ends.
We may end the service if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop providing the service. If we stop the service for our own reasons, we will give you reasonable notice and a reasonable opportunity to take a copy of your details.
Our responsibility to you
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not responsible for loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect loss.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service or the law changes. If a change is material, we will tell you before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
