Why does my website look different from an earlier preview?
Short answer: Nothing is wrong and you do not need to do anything. We have updated the styles we use to build customer websites, so the colours, text size, and card shapes can look different from an older screenshot or preview. Your pages, words, and contact details are unchanged.
Steps
- Check that your four pages are still there: home, services, about, and
contact.
- Check that your own words, your services, and your verified contact details
are unchanged.
- Check the overall look. It is one of three: Calm (blue and quiet), Bold (a
dark header and footer with larger text), or Fresh (green, with the main heading in the centre).
- Remember the look is fixed. We choose it when we build your website, and it
stays the same every time we update the site.
- Email support only if something else is wrong, such as a missing page or
wrong wording. That is not part of this change and we will fix it.
What to expect
Every customer website is light. There is no dark mode for customer sites, even if your phone or computer is set to dark mode. The three looks differ only in colour, text size, and card shape. The four pages, your words, your services, and your verified contact details stay the same. Nothing changes about pricing, sign-up, your domain name, email forwarding, or how your site is published. Choosing your own look is not available yet.
